Made Tough
Speed Sights are made of a fiber reinforced polymer similar to the frames of many rifles and pistols.
They have great strength for their relatively small size.
They are resistant to heat, shock and chemical solvents.
"Don't try this at home"
Probably your gun doesn't get run over very often. But we wanted to see
how Speed Sights would do under "extra load" conditions. So we ran them over with a vehicle on a concrete and gravel driveway. Both front and rear showed only some surface dings on the bottom that didn't interfere with
installation or function.
A Tank Corp guy offered to run them over with his tank, but we declined. They're not indestructible, but the point is we made them as strong as we
could and if they break under normal conditions, we'll replace them.
Rear sight. Notice the rubber deflecting as the tire sits on the sight.
Front sight.

No deformation. Still usable.
